Because the Septicæmia has laid me low and made me a bit weak and
shakey, Social Service has arranged for a specialist cleaners so clean
up the flat.

They're here now and doing an excellent job!

One snag though. This isn't free for a change and it's costing me four
hundred and forty sick squid - and I don't even eat fish! So far,
everything else has been free though.

It's astonishing the way Social Services look after yer when you become
infirm - and of course our magnificent NHS!

And yes, it is paid for from tack sprayers' money. This tack sprayer . .

The clean up was a one-off, the idea being that once the place is clean
and tidy, the patient should be able to keep it that way - except for
some people who sometimes appear in odd 'look-at-this-terrible-person'
TV documentaries.

African they were, except they worked so damned hard you'd have thought
they were Polish.

Fan queue. If I hadn't realised what the were, the hallucinations would
have had be climbing up the wall screaming.

Five weeks in hospital I was, although the identified the bacteria and
gave me the appropriate auntiebiotic, Cyprofloxacin. Did a wonderful job
it did. Brain still a bit scambled though, so I'll still do alright on
here, and as a snide effect, I now have foot droop and have to raise my
right knee a little as I walk - with a stick of course until I fully
recover.

Ah well. At 68 years of age these things happen. Good innings.

It's a hell of a lot of money to pay out. Do you live in a castle with
eighteen bedrooms or something?

Nope. A two bedroom Council flat without a something. Us pensioners
though; we're pretty well off. Keep proper accounts so you know where
you are and most of the time just buy the bare essentials so that, after
a payment like this, the balance rises to what it was before.

And I've checked and it is a fair going rate.

If they're either, don't let them near the fridge, if they're anything
like the neodymium ones I used to work with you'll never get them off it.

Iyy didn't. I warned em to stay well away from it because the door fell
off some time ago, weighs a ton and made me jump out of the way, and
landed on its corner and crunched up where the the hinge-pin was
supposed to go - so there's only the upper hinge holding it and you have
to hold the hinge side of the door and open it very carefully indeed.

I'm gonna make an 'L' bracket to replace the hinge but I haven't got
round or any other shape to it yet.

The short horizontal part of the bracket will have the hole for the
hinge-pin and the longer vertical bit will be securely screwed up the
side of the edge of the door.
